NCAA Names Top Player of the Week Monday, May 8th, 2028 18-year-old Marvin Jones made a few North Carolina headlines during this past week as the rookie first baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and NCAA officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 14 hits in 26 at-bats to put up a .538 average. Jones collected 6 home runs, 12 RBIs and scored 8 runs. Jones is hitting at a .437 mark this season. His stats show 22 home runs, 52 RBIs and 40 runs scored. He has played 35 games for the Tar Heels. |
