5-Hit Barrage by Conway Sunday, April 23rd, 2028 The Duke Blue Devils stopped the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets by a score of 17-3 at Jack Coombs Field today, with the lion's share of the credit going to third baseman John Conway. The 19-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Conway said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Conway did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Yellow Jackets. "Not much that I can say," offered Georgia Tech manager António Medellín. "He just hammered the heck out of us." John Conway singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Travis Haney in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
