The future looks extremely bright for Marvin Nichols. At the age of 22, many players are still trying to find their way in Appalachian League.

Nichols has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Appalachian League Outstanding Hitter Award.

"I didn't expect to hit .289 this year, that's for sure," the center fielder said.

The Kenosha Kingfish star also put up a .382 on-base percentage this year, with 151 hits, 23 doubles, 6 triples, 29 home runs, 87 RBIs and 109 runs scored.

Alejandro Guzmán of the Scottsdale Scorpions finished second in voting, while Manuel Santiago of the El Paso Texans finished third.
