Armando Alvarado put together a very solid month to take home the Midwest League's top pitching honor in August. The 21-year-old reliever threw like a veteran. In 18 relief appearances he raked in 13 saves and 19 strikeouts in 19 innings as he put together his 2-1 record and 3.79 ERA. This season Alvarado has notched 20 saves with 34 strikeouts and 17 walks in 34 innings while registering a 3.44 ERA and a 3-2 won-lost record. |
