Doherty Torches Noise for 6 Hits Thursday, September 21st, 2028 Irvine catcher Tom Doherty could do no wrong in today's 12-5 win over the Noise as he collected 6 hits. "Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Noise skipper Bobby Vickers said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts." Doherty agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game. "Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready." Tom Doherty doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
