San Francisco rode a good effort from starter Kunihiko Daikawa to beat the New York Knights at Bay View Park. The final score was 2-1. Daikawa, now 3-3, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing no earned runs. At 24-39, the Bandits are currently 4th in the National League Western Division.
Scott Merritt made an early impact for San Francisco when he stroked his 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came with one out in the bottom of the third, put the Bandits on top, 2-0.
Daikawa said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
