Rockets Edge Nevada in Pitching Duel

Carl Henry pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Nevada Noise, despite Henry's fine outing, dropped a 1-0 decision to the Nassau Rockets at Branda's Palace. Nassau reliever Bill Sampson got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Carl Henry was tagged with the loss. Guan-cai Yong closed the door for Nassau, picking up his 14th save of the year.
The Rockets got a lift from left fielder Andrew Alvarado who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning off Carl Henry. It was his 20th RBI of the season and put Nassau in front, 1-0.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Bobby Vickers. "That was the problem."
Nassau's record now stands at 30-29, placing them third in the National League Southern Division.
