Marshals Deal Browns 5-4 Setback
|
Houston beat St. Louis at Gateway Stadium, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Stan Aldridge, who earned player of the game honors. The winning pitcher was Aldridge, now 5-5. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. Pablo Cabral earned the save for Houston, his 10th of the year.
José Rodríguez wielded some clout for Houston. The first baseman had a 3-run home run in the top of the first for the Marshals. It put his team ahead, 3-0, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Rodríguez went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," St. Louis manager Jeff Porter said following the tough loss.
The Marshals saw their record improve to 24-34.
