The New Orleans Looters defeated the Beech Mountain Mountaineers, 9-4, at Park Top. New Orleans designated hitter Taylor Smith was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win was credited to Roy March in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Rafael López took the loss. Juan Méndez finished the game for New Orleans and earned his 13th save.

Had Eduardo Rodríguez not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Rodríguez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Looters.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Rodríguez said. "We did a pretty good job of that today."
