G-Strings Beat River Sharks, 5-3
|
Benefiting from Mike Callahan's productive game, the Nashville G-Strings downed the Austin River Sharks, 5-3. Callahan went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times for the G-Strings. Clint John got the win, improving to 4-4. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 3. Even with the win, the G-Strings have a dismal 12-33 record.
Rob Grun played a key role in the win. The Nashville left fielder hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, Grun went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I just love going out and having a big game," Callahan said when asked about being named player of the game. "It's an honor to have your talents recognized."
