The Austin River Sharks defeated the Pocatello Boccabellas, 8-0, at Greendale Community Field today. Leading the charge for Austin was catcher Dexter Potter. He was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. Austin reliever Luis Trujillo picked up the win to move to 1-0. Bud Baldwin suffered the loss. With the loss, Pocatello drops to 0-4.
The River Sharks got a big at-bat from first baseman Manny Copriviza. For the game, Copriviza went 2-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave Austin a 1-0 lead.
"We had a nice day," said Austin skipper Will Shaw.
