Mountaineers Win at San Francisco, 2-1
|
Beech Mountain Mountaineers starter Júlio Torres turned in a sterling performance against the San Francisco Bandits, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Beech Mountain is now 20-22, San Francisco 14-28.
Beech Mountain took a 2-1 lead on Pedro Gonzáles's 5th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Gonzáles hit in the top of the seventh, left San Francisco pitcher Felipe Reyes shaking his head.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Torres. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
