Beavers Get Road Win, 6-1
|
Getting a good performance from shortstop Dave Craig, the Baffin Island Beavers defeated the New York Knights, 6-1. Craig hit 2 home runs for the Beavers. Baffin Island starter Luis Vargas was credited with the win after throwing 87 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 2-4. New York has now lost 4 consecutive games.
Baffin Island right fielder Raúl Soto helped the Beavers go up, 2-1, in the top of the fourth inning. With the game tied, Soto hit a run-scoring single off New York pitcher Elton Johnston.
Craig attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
