Plymouth played host to Houston at the friendly confines of Play Rocks Field.

Plymouth Rocks starter José Martínez was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Houston Marshals, 3-2. In 6.1 innings, Martínez surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Earning his 8th save of the year was Robinson Gonzáles.

In the bottom of the 6th, designated hitter Bob Smith gave Plymouth the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Rocks had been trailing 1-0, but the two-out double off Houston pitcher Daniel Grant changed that -- and Plymouth went on to win.

Smith told a Plymouth Herald reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.

It was the 14th win in 22 games this year for the defending champion Rocks, who are picking up where they left off.
