San Francisco and Maui duked it out at Rainbow Stadium and the Bandits came out victorious.

Maui center fielder Mario Olivares had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Olivares was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3, even as San Francisco beat the Tropics, 10-7. Olivares was named the player of the game despite the loss. Mabuchi Yoshida earned the win for San Francisco. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 11 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0.

Michael Elliott helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a run-scoring double to give San Francisco a 1-0 lead.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Elliott told the San Francisco Herald.
