Mountaineers Trip Rocks in Extras

The Beech Mountain Mountaineers beat the Plymouth Rocks, 5-4 at Play Rocks Field, in part due to first baseman Miguel González, who nabbed player of the game honors. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Beech Mountain reliever Matthew Scott was credited with the win, to go to 5-5. Robinson Gonzáles took the loss for Plymouth. Beech Mountain is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Félix Montoya was one of the major contributors to the win for Beech Mountain. The light-hitting shortstop stroked a single to right in the top of the tenth inning. For the day, he was 2 for 5 with 2 singles.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Doug Raymond.
