The inspired effort of Niagara Falls right fielder Tomás Estrada was not enough to prevent a 7-6 loss to the Chicago Machine. Estrada went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Chicago reliever Austin Wall picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Jesse Green was collared with the loss. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Chicago.

Fernando Ortíz contributed an important at-bat in the top of the eighth. With the bases loaded, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat that helped send Chicago to the win.

In comments to the Chicago Citizen, Ortíz admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
