The St Charles Sheens defeated the So Cal Bruins, 5-3, in Continental League action at Jersey West at Staples Field, with St Charles pitcher Luis López named player of the game. López picked up the win for St Charles, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-3. Gianluigi Ciottone picked up the save for St Charles, his 1st of the year.
St Charles grabbed a 2-1 lead in the top of the sixth when Marcos Cantú hit a run-scoring single. For the day, Cantú was 1-3 with a walk.
"It feels good to get that win," said Cantú. "Now it's on to the next one."
