River Sharks Win 6-5 Walk-Off
|
Austin withstood an impressive performance by St. Louis right fielder Mike Hill to defeat the Browns, 6-5, at Greendale Community Field. Hill went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. Austin reliever José Salinas picked up the win, upping his record to 5-5. Keith Swanson absorbed the loss. The 'W' lifts Austin's record to 40-90.
Richard Coker was the walk-off hero for Austin. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the River Sharks second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place was rocking at the end," Coker said.
