Rockets Win Thriller, 2-1

The home team gave the Nassau Grounds fans plenty to cheer about, with a thrilling walk-off win.
The Nassau Rockets got a magnificent effort from pitcher Armando Avilés, who kept Irvine hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Rockets win at Nassau Grounds. The Rockets are now 69-61, while the Gang Green fall to 84-45.
Late-game drama came in the bottom of the ninth inning. With no one out and the bases empty, the batter, Pete Harvey, hit a triple. It helped Nassau seize the win.
Avilés said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
