Losing Streak Continues for Bandits with 9-6 Loss to Mountaineers
The Beech Mountain Mountaineers bested the San Francisco Bandits by a score of 9-6, with right fielder Robert Phillips getting the main credit. On the day, Phillips went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Mountaineers. Tim Hill got the win, improving to 9-10. He held the Bandits to 2 earned runs on 6 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 2. António Ramos closed it out for his 4th save.

With Beech Mountain trailing 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Mountaineers struck gold when designated hitter Rick Turner turned a 0-1 fastball from Bandits hurler Esteban Peña into his 10th home run of the season. The hit scored 3 and put Beech Mountain up, 3-1.

"We got the victory," said Phillips. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

The slumping Bandits have lost 8 straight.
