Mountaineers Hang 8-3 Loss on Bandits
|
It was a fun time at Park Top, where the San Francisco Bandits and Beech Mountain Mountaineers tangled.
Beech Mountain right-hander José Rojas made an effective start against the San Francisco Bandits at Park Top, leading his team to a 8-3 win. Rojas, the winner, moves to 1-8. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks.
The Mountaineers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Rick Turner. For the game, Turner went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 51st hit of the season gave Beech Mountain a 3-2 lead.
"José was throwing free and easy," said Beech Mountain manager Doug Raymond.
The losses continue to mount for San Francisco, which has now dropped 7 in a row.
