The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Plymouth fans at Play Rocks Field.
The Plymouth Rocks beat the Baffin Island Beavers, 9-6, at Play Rocks Field. Plymouth second baseman Roberto García earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Dave Smeddon was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 6 runs on 9 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts.
Andrés Lara, the Plymouth right fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 6-4, Rocks. For the game, Lara went 1 for 3 with 2 walks.
