Merritt goes 3-for-4 as Bandits Squeeze Past New Orleans
Scott Merritt left his imprint on the 6-5 San Francisco win against the New Orleans Looters. Merritt, the eight overall pick in the 2021 draft, went 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. San Francisco reliever Carlos Ledezma picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Juan Flores shouldered the loss. The save went to Mitsunari Taguchi, his 26th this season.

Merritt had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-1 cutter from Juan Flores, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Bandits a 6-5 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Merritt.

In postgame comments to the San Francisco Herald, Merritt said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

The Bandits saw their win-loss record go to 48-72. At the same time, the Looters fell to 69-51.
