Frenzy Fall to Taváres, Stars
|
The Springfield Stars dealt the Niagara Falls Frenzy a 12-4 loss at Kekambas Park. Norberto Taváres was the star on offense. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Springfield is now 98-22, 24 games up in the Continental League Central Division.
Taváres had a game-changing single in the bottom of the seventh. On a 0-1 sinker from Ricardo Pérez, he banged a 2-run single to right, giving the Stars a 6-4 lead. It was the 47th hit of the year for Taváres.
"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Taváres. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
