Knights Win at Austin, 7-4
|
Pedro Guzmán had a good game, but he could not keep the Austin River Sharks from falling, 7-4, to the New York Knights at Greendale Community Field. The Austin first baseman was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Dan Wilson was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, with no walks and 6 strikeouts. Paco Ruíz converted his 3rd save in 4 tries.
Dan Hamilton had a big 2-run triple for the Knights in the top of the fourth inning. With New York leading 3-2 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a cutter from Armando Pérez and stroked the triple to left-center. It was his 12th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Knights ahead, 5-2.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Hamilton said.
The last-place River Sharks have lost 5 straight games.
