The Austin River Sharks and Kansas City Kings were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at The Throne Room.

The Kansas City Kings pounded the Austin River Sharks, 14-1, at The Throne Room. Kansas City designated hitter Toshimichi Kono was named player of the game for his performance. He went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Nariaki Tanaka earned the save for Kansas City, his 3rd of the year.

Ron Crawford brought the hometown crowd to its feet with one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when the 24-year old right fielder belted a 3-run home run. With the round-tripper, the Kings took the lead, 4-1.

"The Kings definitely had our number," said Austin manager Will Shaw.

The Kings sit in second place in the Continental League Central Division with a record of 67-43.
