Stars Suffer 4-1 Loss to Royale with Cheese
|
Pitcher Lorenzo Sánchez was sensational for the Kalamazoo Royale with Cheese in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Springfield Stars. Sánchez received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Sánchez, the winner, moves to 12-5. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 3 walks. Kalamazoo goes to 60-48, Springfield to 87-20.
There were several reasons the Royale with Cheese beat the Stars, but one factor was Caden Keith. In the bottom of the fifth, the Kalamazoo center fielder came to bat and hit a 2-run single. It staked his team to a 3-1 lead.
Sánchez said afterward that "winning is what it's all about."
