Big Day by Abete Sparks Oilers Win

El Dorado left fielder Tony Abete made his presence felt in the 8-6 Oilers triumph over the Austin River Sharks. Abete was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Mitch Brown, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 0.2 innings. Kuang-yin Yue sewed up the save, his 3rd.
This game was not decided until Al Gaines came to bat in the top of the ninth. With a runner on 3rd and one out, the El Dorado right fielder hit a sacrifice fly. The Oilers took the lead, 7-6.
"We'll take this win and move on," said Abete.
With the loss, Austin drops to 5-5.
