Boccabellas Continue Skid Thanks to Guerrero, Stars
|
The Springfield Stars beat the Pocatello Boccabellas, 6-5 at Kekambas Park, in part due to right fielder Felipe Guerrero, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. José Valdéz earned the save, his 29th. Springfield has now reeled off 10 straight wins.
Guerrero had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Mark Murchison, he banged a 3-run home run to center, giving the Stars a 6-4 lead. It was the 32nd home run of the year for Guerrero.
"It's great to be on a roll," said Guerrero.
