Rocks Topple Beavers with Late Rally

The Plymouth Rocks powered past the Baffin Island Beavers, 8-4, at Beaver Dam. Roberto García was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once, to lead the charge. Alfonso Ramos picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Jaime Guzmán was tagged with the loss. Today's win puts Plymouth at 67-28, while Baffin Island falls to 56-38.
García had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-1 cutter from John Dickson, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Rocks a 8-4 lead. It was the 17th home run of the year for García.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," García told the Plymouth Herald.
