Home Loss Shrinks Pikes' Series Lead to 2-1
The Springfield Stars have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Seattle Pikes, winning 9-4 at Pikes' Point Stadium today. Stars third baseman Jesús Tobías was named player of the game after he went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The win cuts the deficit facing the Stars to 2-1 in the best-of-7 League Championship.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when center fielder Calvin Bennett reached on an error by the 3B. The Stars went on to win.

"We swung the bats pretty good throughout the lineup," said Springfield skipper León Gonzáles.

Game 4 is set to be played on Tuesday, October 24th, 2028 at Pikes' Point Stadium. Slated to start are Anthony Erickson for the Stars and Marcos Benítez for the Pikes.
