Rodgers, Rocks Sink Rockets Again in Game 2
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of left fielder Wilbert Rodgers, the Plymouth Rocks stopped the visiting Nassau Rockets, 9-4, in Game 2 of the Divisional Round today. Rodgers hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 for the Rocks, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
Rodgers had an important at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the fourth, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Rocks went on to win.
"We lost," Nassau manager Ji-an Shaw said later. "We'll deal with it. The series isn't over."
The next game is set to be played on Saturday, October 14th, 2028 at Nassau Grounds. Slated to start are José López for the Rocks and Rod Adams for the Rockets.
