Home Field Advantage: Waters, Plymouth Open Divisional Round with Win
|
The Plymouth Rocks started the Divisional Round in style today, downing the visiting Nassau Rockets at Play Rocks Field by a score of 10-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Rocks center fielder Barrett Waters was named player of the game after he was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3.
Waters had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the seventh inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Rocks went on to win.
"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Waters said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."
The next game is set to be played on Thursday, October 12th, 2028 at Play Rocks Field. Slated to start are Ben Moody for the Rockets and José Martínez for the Rocks.
