Both teams had their chances, but the Boston Rebels eventually prevailed at Edmund Fitzgerald Field.
The Niagara Falls Frenzy went down to defeat to Rusty van Rhee and his Boston teammates. The final score was 3-2 in favor of the Rebels. van Rhee got the win, improving to 5-7. He allowed 7 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. van Rhee allowed 2 earned runs.
Runs were hard to come by in this one. Lorenzo Flores's at-bat with two out in the top of the eighth, therefore, was critical. The Boston first baseman hit a run-scoring single, to put his team on top, 3-2.
"We found a way to get it done," Flores said.
Boston is 30-55 and Niagara Falls, with the loss, 27-58.
