Ferreira Stars for Beavers in 8-3 Win
|
The Baffin Island Beavers topped the Niagara Falls Frenzy by the score of 8-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to second baseman Alonso Ferreira. Ferreira was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Beavers on the day. The second-place Beavers now have a win-loss record of 94-65.
Ferreira contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the third. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Baffin Island get the win.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Ferreira told the Baffin Island Observer. "It's as simple as that."
