Castro, Mountaineers Too Much for Rockets
|
A 4-RBI performance from third baseman Juan Castro, who is tied for 10th in the NL in triples with 3, led the Beech Mountain Mountaineers to a 6-5 win over the Nassau Rockets. The Rockets, now 34-36, have lost 4 straight.
Pedro Gonzáles was involved in some late-game drama. With two out in the bottom of the eighth, Gonzáles hit a run-scoring single. It helped Beech Mountain snatch the win.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Nassau manager Ji-an Shaw. "But we decided not to take it."
