Becker Smacks 3 Out of the Park Monday, May 10th, 2027 Bill Becker brutalized the Buchanan HS pitching staff, launching three home runs in today's 13-6 victory at Leafs Ballpark. The Dublin Jerome HS Celtics center fielder was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day. "I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one." For the game, he went 3-for-3 with 8 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "Too much Bill Becker today," Buchanan HS manager Lou Nisbet said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to." Bill Becker hit a three-run home run off Gerald Collins in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Gerald Collins in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Chris Miller in the 8th. This year Becker is batting .400 with 16 home runs. He has scored 55 runs and driven in 63. |
