Streak Finally Over, Carter Held Hitless Sunday, May 2nd, 2027 The Masconomet HS Chieftans got more than a 8-5 victory over Oliver Ames HS today at Carbines Ballpark. They put an end to Kevin Carter's 23-game hitting spree by holding him without a hit in 5 at-bats. But it was no big deal to the Tigers right fielder. Carter seemed to feel more for his team than himself. "I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit. I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today." This year Carter is batting .448 with 60 hits, 11 home runs, 45 RBIs, 17 walks, .516 OBP and has scored 28 runs. |
