Mississippi State Loses Torres for Year
Sunday, May 16th, 2027
The doctors have spoken and Tony Torres of the Mississippi State Bulldogs didn't like what he heard. The 19-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Torres sustained his season-ending injury during the Georgetown Hoyas game yesterday at Dudy Noble Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Mississippi State medical staff reported Torres had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 7-8 months.

Torres has no saves in 10 relief appearances this season with a 1-2 record and 6.61 ERA.
