Fernández Bags ESL Best Player Award Monday, September 13th, 2027 With some great hand-eye coordination and a sweet, compact swing, Mt Pleasant Bearcats first baseman Pat Fernández took the Eastern League by storm this past week to take the latest Player of the Week honors. "The ball was looking like a beach ball all week," a happy Fernández said to BNN reporters. "When it's that big, it doesn't matter where they throw it -- I can hit it anywhere." The 22-year-old first baseman hit .444 (12-for-27) last week with 6 home runs, 13 RBIs and 7 runs scored. So far this year Fernández is hitting .285 with 36 home runs. |
