Great Stroke: King Gets 5 Hits
Tuesday, August 17th, 2027
Ron King knows as well as anyone that in baseball, the biggest contracts go to the biggest hitters. At Kelly/Shorts Stadium today, he made his case to be considered among that group.

The 25-year-old second baseman hammered 5 hits in 5 chances, though the remarkable effort came even as his Reading Rainbows fell, 12-10, to the Mt Pleasant Bearcats.

"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," Bearcats manager Yu-wei Gan told BNN sportswriters after the game. "Thankfully, we were able to do enough elsewhere that King wasn't the difference."

Ron King singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and singled in the 10th.

So far this season King has 16 home runs and a .318 batting average.
