Hits Galore: Vázquez Drills 5 Hits Saturday, June 5th, 2027 Menlo Maniacs third baseman Héctor Vázquez had a day to remember at Wrangler Field today, ripping apart the Red Deer Wranglers and sparking the Maniacs to a 13-5 victory. Vázquez wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-6. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Vázquez told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it." Héctor Vázquez hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off William Bryant in the 6th, grounded out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
