Red-Hot Martínez Scorches Red Bulls Wednesday, June 23rd, 2027 It was a good day at Tilley Field. The San Diego Smashers whipped the Riverside Red Bulls 24-2 and center fielder Ramiro Martínez showed off a hot bat, going 5-for-6 at the plate. "Some days, lady luck is on your side," Martínez told BNN reporters after the game. Smashers manager Mike Fox told the beat writers otherwise, calling the 24-year-old "focused and patient." "It's not luck," he said. "He has a solid approach to hitting. Ramiro hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have." Ramiro Martínez hit a two-run single in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit a two-run triple in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
