Copriviza Delivers Walk-Off Win for Gang Green
|
The Irvine Gang Green did just enough to sneak past the Maui Tropics, 4-3, at The Ballpark at Irvine. Irvine pitcher Cris Rincón earned player of the game honors. Irvine reliever Kuang-yin Yue picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Ricardo Pérez shouldered the loss. The defending champion Gang Green have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 16-15 with the win.
Manny Copriviza was the walk-off hero for Irvine. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Gang Green pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Copriviza said.
