Steeldogs Blown Out by Knights

New York and Birmingham took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
The New York Knights clobbered the Birmingham Steeldogs, 14-3, at The Ballpark at Sloss Furnace today. New York center fielder Pepe Carrasco was named player of the game for his productive day. He was 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. The 4th-place Knights improved to 51-97.
In the top of the 6th, designated hitter Tom Blake gave New York the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Knights had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out single off Birmingham pitcher Craig Draper changed that -- and New York went on to win.
"We got our butts kicked," said Birmingham manager Gilberto Cortéz.
