Frenzy Come Up Short at Birmingham
|
The Birmingham Steeldogs stopped the Niagara Falls Frenzy, 6-5, at The Ballpark at Sloss Furnace. The Steeldogs got a big game from José Hernández, who went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs. The save went to Rick Grant, his 2nd this season. Birmingham is now 55-77, while Niagara Falls is 60-73.
Hernández contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the third. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Birmingham get the win.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Hernández said.
