The Baffin Island Beavers got a superb performance from pitcher Thierry Garneau, but the Boston Rebels still won the game, 8-4. Garneau was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Jung-keun Yi, the winner, improved to 3-16. He held the Beavers to 3 earned runs on 5 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 1 and walking 3. The last-place Rebels improved to 35-77.
Boston grabbed control in the top of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, Lorenzo Flores delivered a 2-run double, to make it 6-4 in favor of the Rebels.
"We maximized our offense today," said Boston skipper Sandy Barnes. "That makes everyone's life easier."
