Bandits Beat Gang Green in 10

The San Francisco Bandits knocked off the Irvine Gang Green, 7-3, at The Ballpark at Irvine. Ramón Ruíz, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason San Francisco won. The first baseman was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. The win was Kunihiko Daikawa's in relief. His record improves to 3-8. Santiago González took the loss for Irvine. San Francisco, at 38-73, occupies last place in the National League Western Division.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Javier Ramírez came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Irvine pitcher Santiago González, he hit a 1-0 sinker for a 2-run double. It was a game-changer, putting San Francisco on top, 5-3.
"Big team win," Ruíz said later.
