Knights Lose to Pikes in Walk Off
|
New York got a terrific performance from pitcher Dan Wilson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Seattle Pikes. Seattle won the Pikes' Point Stadium contest, 4-3. Wilson was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. Seattle reliever Orlando Ojeda picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-4. James Jones was collared with the loss. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Pikes.
Seattle won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no outs and James Jones on the mound for New York, center fielder Randy Sheppard hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Pikes fans to their feet.
"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Sheppard said.
